Quick Hey Blog! of the day. Or week.

Yeah, very belated happy new year and all of that.

Should I already say that I have nothing?

Well, ok, not entirely accurate, but what I do have isn't exactly blog fodder. Health news (mostly good), family news (to be kept to family, as far as I'm concerned), and complaining about the weather (or wether, as I originally typed. Although what castrated sheep and goats have to do with anything I'm not quite sure).

I also seem to have a fair amount of parentheses.

And very few new photos. There are a handful on the camera, but... they're on the camera.

Anyway, there's your little hi, I'm still here post for the evening. I may be here a little more tomorrow, but after tonight's staff meeting I may need another break just to come up with some actual blather. We'll see.

Laaater...

Oh, one thing. Shooting people shouldn't ever be the answer. To anything.  #JeSuisCharlie.

Pointless photo of the day:

Yes, yes, the blog has been somewhat lacking in content this past while.

I realise it.

I guess I just don't have any bees in my bonnet at the moment. Or I'm getting lazy. Or... something.

I suppose it could be partly the time of year, if I wanted to blame things on seasonality. The days are getting shorter, the view is getting blander, and the blog is getting boring.

Or maybe just the blogger.

I'm sounding much more down than I really am, I promise.

I sooo have nothing today, but I bet you'd already noticed that. Ah well, at least you got a pointless photo of one of my favourite things in the world. Yes, I like grape leaves even when they're dead. They twist into such interesting shapes, you see.

Um, and with that... I'll try harder to be blathery tomorrow? Well, we'll see.

Pointless photo and that's all you're getting yet again of the day:

No excuse today, really. I'm just not in the mood to force a blather, so I don't think I'll bother.

Gee, I'm good at this blogging thing.

And now I'm done typing.

 ----------

Edited a while later to say: does it tell you anything about my workplace that we've named the new photocopier Darth Konica because it looks sort of like it came from the Death Star?

I'm serious, by the way.

And now I'm done typing for sure this time.

Oh, for a brain to post with

I really wanted to make this a proper post. Really, I did. Things seem to be conspiring against me, though.

I'm tired, both physically and mentally. You might have gathered that there's been a little behind-the-scenes stress here (you know, from the lack of anything actually blatherific lately). Things are mostly ok at the moment, but still. Stressed is stressed, and it doesn't go away overnight.

So, there's that. But I thought I could pick some silly topic today and just type my way through it. That works, sometimes, to get me back on track. And then? Well, now we're under severe thunderstorm watch, and since my dad's UPS is old enough to be decidedly lacking in the battery part of backup battery, I'm a little leery to be typing away and just lose everything.

Ok, so it wouldn't be everything. Blogger's automatic save feature's kind of handy that way, but the whole thing's still more or less inhibiting the flow of nonsense.

I suppose I could tell you why I photoedited the bejeebers out of the poor begonia in today's pointless photo, but I really don't remember now. Bored, probably. Too many begonia pictures in a row that day.

So where does that leave me? Wanting lunch, I guess. Lunch and a nap, but knowing my brain and its aversion to sleep, lunch alone will probably have to do.

Let's give this another go later, ok? Or tomorrow, which also counts as later.

Ok, then.

Saturday, 21 July 2012

Hiya

Not a great photo, I know, but I kind of liked the way the Mock Orange flowers were glowing.

Well, not literally glowing, obviously. That would indicate some bizarre form of radiation.

----------

Sorry for the unexpected absence from the blog (and sorry that I'm mostly going to continue it today by being in a non-wordy mood). It was a combination of taking a little time off from work and being fairly busy when I was here. The perils of blogging when you don't own a computer, I guess.

Like I said above, though, now that I actually have time to blog I'm not really in the blogging mood. I'd have plenty to talk about, but some of it's too depressing (death counts as depressing, right?), too work-related, or just too plain boring to bother with. At least in my current brain. And also in my current brain, I'm thinking that although I'm perfectly capable of writing a whole blog post about how bummed I was last night to be able to hear the fireworks but not see them (kiiinda like fireworks, me), it just doesn't seem worth the typing.

So there you go. I'll try for make-up blather in the next day or so, but for now I guess I'll just say see you later.

Friday, 18 May 2012

Ok, honestly?

Not to sound like the Wheel of Random Excuses, but this time I got involved in a work thing and forgot that I hadn't already blogged.

And now I have other work stuff.

I'd say that I'd post properly tonight, but we all know at this point that it's not going to happen. Sooo... tomorrow?

Yeah, I think I can actually do tomorrow.

I hope at least that everyone's enjoying the recent parade of ladybird beetles. New photos as of the weekend, or at least that's the plan. For now, though, back to work.

Bye, then.

Thursday, 10 May 2012

I so completely haven't had enough sleep to post

Did you know that there are two 2 o'clocks in a day?

No one should know that first-hand and then still pretend that they have enough brain to go to work with, really. So far today I've sat in on an interview (and you'll have to ask Wheat if I was a massive embarrassment), made some minor, completely non-taxing edits to the work blog, fed the salamanders, and stared into dead space.

In some order.

As for the rest of the day, I'm thinking that I might just head home, give my sore head a rest (yeah, on top of everything else my neck's been out. I'm moving now, but it's pretty obvious still that things aren't quite hooked up right yet), and see if I can't come up with something for the increasingly-likely-to-be-late summer newsletter's front page column. Aaand probably fail miserably at that, but I least I could give it a try.

And since writing isn't technically a thing that I have to be in an upright and seated position, that particular option is looking very palatable just about now.

Sooo...

Yeah. I've got nothing. Catch you later, although maybe not tomorrow since it looks to be busy.

I hope I find a way to bring my WHOLE brain tomorrow...

Chapter 1559: Wherein Dee completely lacks a topic

But I do have a spider. That counts for something. I took that shot last weekend, and it was my first (well, one of three first) pointless spider photo of the season.

That means spring's here, you know.

Not that our weather would convince you, but apparently spring is actually here.

It hasn't given me the appetite for blogging, though. That, plus the continuing frustration of typing with a brace on explains this week's distinct lack of blather, if anyone was wondering.

I still have nothing by the way. Well, I have this link. Go ahead. Click on it. I promise that it's one of the neatest nature pictures you'll see today.

And I also promise that it's not a spider.

Although cool spider photos would be good, too. Maybe I'll get some this year. The blog was distinctly lacking in spiders last season, if I remember right.

Never a good thing.

And since I still have nothing and have managed to press the ALT key accidentally three times, I'm going to stop typing if that's all right with everyone. It's certainly all right with me...

Nothing

Yep, I've got nothing. I've spent two mornings now in the planetarium, and it tends to do away with a person's brain a little bit.

I've got a little more voice left than I thought I was going to have, thank goodness, but I'm still trying to keep things pretty quiet so that I don't end up causing myself damage.

So... um... oh. Today's pointless photo. A kukui nut lei from one of our visits to Hawaii.

I like Hawaii.

Kind of wish I was in Hawaii right now, in fact.

I really have nothing to say about this picture, to be honest. The lei hangs in my closet at my father's house. I like it. I'm not sure why I like it, but I like it. I'm occasionally tempted to wear it to work for no reason at all, but I haven't got around to that yet. I probably will at some point.

There's a tourist-style cheap grass skirt in my closet at Dad's, too. Different trip to Hawaii. I was about twelve, I think.

I'm kind of embarrassed to say this, but the grass skirt's been worn. By me. On stage. For a church concert.

I wore shorts underneath, though.

I'm sure you're all relieved to hear that.

Did I mention that the planetarium fan tends to suck a person's brain out? Oh, good. I'm glad something will explain this nonsense.

I'm going to stop typing now before I start telling you about some of the other things I have from Hawaii.

Kind of wish I was in Hawaii right now...

Pointless photo of the day:

Yeah, I don't really have anything today. Well, I do have a headache because my neck's been kind of (more than kind of, but you don't want the gory details) screwed up the past couple of days. I don't need to blather about a headache, though. You've heard it often enough.

So... I guess that's it for today then, all right? All right with me, at any rate, and since I'm the one doing the typing...

Tuesday, 24 January 2012

Aaaahhh!!!

I scared you.

Or maybe I didn't, I don't know. I think I might have shocked you a little at least, though, what with actually posting and all.

So...

How ya been?

I'm already hitting I've got nothing, yep. Not even a new pointless photo.

Ok, the fact is that as is usual after a while of not working (or, rather, not being at the office. I was working; just not here) I have at least a bazillion five things to get caught up on, so blogging's not exactly a priority today. I'll try for something a bit more substantial in the next day or two, but now? Well, maybe I'll post a couple of doodles over on the other blog so that you can see what I was up to while the weather had me locked away. Or at least I'll post one. I should probably stagger the other ones out a bit. After all, going from famine to feast can make a person physically ill, you know.

Or maybe that's just my doodles.

Kidding, yes. Even I don't think that my doodles are entirely vomit-worthy.

Aaanyway (has anyone out there missed the Anyway Chronicles? That's probably what I should have named this blog), I'll post up something or other to the other blog, and then I'll have lunch if that's ok with everyone.

If it's not? Well, I'll probably still have lunch.

Later, all. Hopefully not as later as this particular pointless post was...

It must be non-blather weekend

Yep. Nothing much today, either.

So here's a rock.

And snow.

Yep.

On the plus side, I don't yet have a Facebook account...

Wednesday, 4 January 2012

Still here

I've just been a cross between away from the computer, busy, and sleepless.

Wait. That didn't sound right.

I was away from the computer on the weekend, I've been busy with programs and such since, and yesterday I hardly got any sleep so after my morning round of planetarium the last thing I felt like doing was blogging. I guess that about covers things, then.

So how was your holiday?

Mine? Quiet. Nothing much to report, actually. And since I really should get about drawing a tadpole before my afternoon program, maybe I should leave the blather for another day.

Yep. Drawing a tadpole. Told you I get paid for doing weird things. Later, then, everyone.

Sunday, 11 December 2011

I got rhythm...

... I got music. I got...

nothing for a blog post...

Yep. I can already tell that I'm just not in the mood today. No reason for it; I've just got that feeling that there's no point in forcing anything because it'll end up totally lame.

Hey, at least I'm honest.

Enjoy the weird picture, then. See you tomorrow.

Or whenever.

Thursday, 10 November 2011

Really?

I so love it when I've not been around the blog for a while, then finally get a chance to sit down and post, and... nothing.

No, really. I love having a totally blank blog. It makes blogging so incredibly worthwhile.

Or, you know, not.

Anyway. I have nothing, my last couple of days have given me nothing (but complaints, and I'm just not in the mood to whinge), and HAVE A POINTLESS PHOTO BECAUSE THAT'S ALL YOU'RE GETTING OUT OF ME.

I'll try a little harder tomorrow, I guess.

Thursday, 27 October 2011

I... got nothing

And that's even after trying to give the whole "topic" thing a bit of effort for a change.

Just not into it today, I guess.

It doesn't help that I feel so draggy. I know I've been whining about this for a while now (tooooooo looooong) but I'd just like Whomever's in charge to know that I get the point and I'm done with feeling yucky if that's ok. Don't get me wrong -- I'm definitely feeling better. I've just got that tail-end why isn't this over yet? thing going on that doesn't make me especially good company.

Even for myself. I'm usually pretty good at liking my own company, but I'm sick of myself at the moment. Sad, that.

It doesn't help any that I have a mystery pain (well, more of a dull ache than a pain) that's nearly on the verge of turning me all hypochondriacal even though it's 99.9% guaranteed to be nothing. It's just one damned thing after another, as my grandmother would have said.

No, really. She said that a lot. My grandmother was a bit... different, I suppose.

Anyway. This is plenty of wordage for not having anything to say, so it's time to stop typing before this becomes a post. Leaving...

now.

Monday, 10 October 2011

Thud

That would be the sound of me hitting the blather wall.

I've tried to think of a blog post. Really I have. There hasn't even been the distraction of work (since this is a holiday) or internet radio (since I haven't had it on). I guess that after yesterday's lengthy ramble -- and later weirdness -- I'm just out, temporarily.

Besides, I can't deny the fact that I'm not over this latest bout of crud yet. I'm definitely feeling better and I might even have enough voice for tomorrow's two programs, but the energy level certainly isn't where I'd like it to be and the head's still full enough that I've been ending the last few days with headaches.

So... um...

Amaryllis?

This is the other one that's been flowering. Each of them is currently sending up second flower stocks, so even if the third one that might flower decides it's not worth it I'll have colour for a little while yet. That's kind of nice.

Yep.

You know, I really think that this is all I have today. Time to stop typing, then.

Yep.

Tuesday, 21 June 2011

Sorry, Charlie

It's been a long programming day, and I'm operating on way too little sleep. I mean waaay too little.

All of this, of course, translates to no post today. And possibly tomorrow, too, since it'll be another busy day.

See you when I see you.

Monday, 27 December 2010

Blank

Yep, blank.

Blank screen, blank post, blank mind apparently.

I've gone totally blank. Not sure if I had much on the brain to blather about in the first place, but it seems that whatever small thing might have been there is gone now.

For those new to the program, what usually happens next is that I type for a while in hopes that the blankness will resolve itself or, at the very least, I'll think of something to complain about. Should that occur I'll often delete the top I've got nothing part of the post and pretend that I did, in fact, have something the whole time. If nothing comes up then the entire post becomes I've got nothing and my two fans all say oh not that same old song again.

Erm... should I explain that my two fans apparently have multiple personalities? Either that or they've ACTUALLY multiplied lately. Welcome, to those of you who really are new to the program. I have no idea why you're here, but make yourself at home. I'll put the kettle on.

So, status update?

Still blank. Sorry.

Oh, there are things I could blather about, of course. The east coast's crappy weather (my sympathies, folks. For real), my lack of ambition to hit the Boxing Day/Week sales, an explanation of what Boxing Day has evolved into in Canada for those of you from away who've never experienced the madness, batteries (yes, I could blather about batteries)... I guess I'm just not in the mood.

And what am I in the mood for?

Well, it might turn out to be a doodling day later. Or I may just sit down here and watch silly British sketch comedy on the Home of All Things Plagiarised, depending on what game my father ends up watching this afternoon (one sucky thing about the fact that he's gone to satellite television? He only has the one receiver so we watch one thing in this house now. Not a big deal during the week when he's the only one here, of course, but it's a bit inconvenient for Yours Non-Sportingly when she visits). In other words, I'm kind of a blank on my mood as well.

I guess that pretty much explains this whole post, then.

Pity I just didn't stick with the first sentence. It would have saved me a lot of unnecessary letters.

Later, all.

Wednesday, 28 July 2010

I got a million of 'em

No. Really. I do. I promise not to post all of the hummingbird photos I have but you should see the caverns of my hard-drive. Or not.

So let me say straight off, today I got nothin'. Oh my, a contradiction - first I got a million, then nothing. Well that certainly made my brain go all wobbly and run about looking for a point. Ah, dear friends, such is my life.

Good grief, I'm starting to feel like I'm being directed by Tim Burton with Johnny playing me ... and no, out of good taste, I shall not pursue that latter thought. As much fun as that would be.

I remember a time when I used to speak in whole sentences and didn't place periods everywhere. For emphasis.
